The Don’ts of Football Betting

It is common that gamblers vary or increase their bets. Some do it after having lost their earlier bets, some do it after winning. If you are one of those in this category of gamblers, then the odds of you being successful are slim. In the long run, you will run out of capital to carry on.

Based on my successful method, you will win 70% of the time. And if you are successful 70% of the time, then you will have a winning percentage of 40% nett.

70% success – 30% failure = 40% nett win.

I am sure any gambler would be happy with this result. And in order to achieve this, there are some practices that you will have to follow. They are the don’ts of football betting.

1. Do not vary your bets on your investment. Always bet the same amount on your games every week and stick to that amount, win or lose.

2. Do not expect to win every bet you placed. You might be surprised to know that the best professionals in the business rarely achieve 60%. The key is to recognize that you should not come in and to break the bank right away. You need to have a disciplined approach over a long period of time to succeed otherwise you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

3. Do not delay in placing your bets. As a rule of thumb, it is best to place your bet early in the week to get better odds, though it may not work for some games.

4. Do not bet on all games in a weekend. Always stick to the top teams of the league.

If you follow the above, I am sure success will come your way. Be patient, as this success is not instant, it is spread out over the football season.

Wish you a successful and rewarding season in the English Premier League 2008/09.

How To Find Elusive Football Draws

The football draw game – hard to find them is not it? Eight of these are key to winning the UK treble chance football pool, but maybe you just want to find two or three for a specialized fixed odds bet, or a range of trebles, maybe in an Australian, German, Spanish or Italian league. Typically, on a league weekend in the UK football season and 49 matches on the coupon, there will be on average, 9 scoring football draws, and of these, many will have been predictable using a good forecasting system. No-score football draws average out at about 4-5 per week.

How do we find them?

Well, in the British league season, most teams play close to 'form', but Cup matches are more of a lottery when 'great killing' happens fairly frequently, and are best avoided if you are serious about winning the football pools. So, to start, we only bet when the odds are optimal, and that means league games. In fact, we do not bet when 'form' is likely to be compromised – eg on Boxing Day.

With a good football draw forecast system, you will be able to keep track of form and eliminate those matches which are certain home wins – there could be typically 22 home wins, many of which will have been easy to predict. As to away wins, these are harder to predict, and there will be, on average, 13-14 away wins on the coupon each week.

So, let's say that we can predict 90% of the home wins – that's roughly 19 matches, and maybe 50% of the away wins – that's another 7 matches. So, out of the coupon as a whole, with a reliable forecasting system we can expect to predict 26 matches (homes and aways). That leaves 23 matches, from which we have to find 8 football draws.

Now, with a good plan or perm, which combines maybe 17 or 18 forecasts – some plans even give a coverage of 24 matches, then you can see that the odds of getting 8 football drawings in a line are considered highly enhanced. Sure, using a plan means that you sacrifice perfection to achieve greater coverage (after all there are 451 million ways of selecting 8 football draws from 49 matches). You probably will not hit the jackpot, but you will have more frequent wins of lower value, and should be able to move into profit.

So, you can see that an efficient football draw prediction system is essential.

What are the key aspects of a good football draw forecast system?

Well, knows when to take and when to avoid betting and throwing your money away, you have to be able to analyze form and come up with football draw predictions. When it comes to form, how far back should you go? How will a team which was promoted from the Championship perform in the Premier League (and vice versa?)

Use statistics selectively

My view is that the first few weeks of the season are when we do not get a reliable picture of form across a league division, and it takes some weeks for the pattern to emerge. Some experts will look at long-term patterns and suggest that some teams are home win experts, some have a good (or a poor) away record. That can be useful in the final analysis, but I do not factor such things in when looking for a football draw game. So, how far back should we look? Certainly not into last season – I work with less than half a dozen matches history (league games only).

Rate the teams

Then, you need to have a consistent way of rating a team's performance – and that needs to take into account the strength of the opposition. This leaves you with a list of teams and performance ratings.

Now you need to look at the forthcoming matches and compare the teams' ratings. Adjust for home advantage, and make any other adjustments you feel are appropriate (new player or manager, injury to a key player?). Then, organize the list in order by slightly match output. At one end of the list will be most probable home wins. At the other end will be the most probable away wins. In the middle will be the juice – where we find the elusive football draw block.

Find the juice

Then, you take the middle chunk of matches and, depending on your budget, decide how many you will cover using your permission or plan. You could reasonably expect to win in those weeks with 11-14 football draws in the results.

If we can find 60% of the draws when there are 13 or 14 in the results, then we will have 8 – 9 draws. That's when a good staking plan comes in, to maximize your chances of getting your football draws in one line.

It's important to see that this is a percentage approach, and all you are seeking to do is get the odds on your side and find most of those elusive football draws. A few wins a season should put you into profit, and as always, the devil is in the detail!

Positive Factors Of A Healthy Relationship

Many ponder what are positive factors of a healthy relationship. It is difficult to pinpoint at a particular time whenever you are in a healthy relationship or not. Arguing with your partner is not particularly a sign of an unhealthy relationship. Having different views sometimes is not either. Therefore, what are the positive factors of a healthy relationship?

Communication

This is one of the most essential aspects of any relationship. You and your partner need to learn how to talk to each other. Laying things on the table are not hard tasks for either of you. With breakdown in communication, your relationship is bound to break down as communication is the key of any relationship. Proper communication takes honesty, understanding, love and empathy.

Compromise

You and your partner are unique people. Each of you has different needs, likes, views and perspectives. This is to say that arguments and disagreements are inevitable. Therefore, learn to compromise. If he loves sports, let him take the day off with his friends to watch the Premier League. Take the day away from him to do some spring-cleaning or meditation.

Independence

Everyone is unique. Therefore, it is important to take time away from your relationship to focus on yourself. Embrace your individuality and do things that you enjoy as yourself. While he is out watching a football match, you could go out doing something you like eg painting or riding.

Respect

After a long commitment, partners are bound to get very free with each other. You may find yourself saying or doing offensive things without caring about your partner's feelings. A key word to remember in every step of your relationship is 'Respect'. Value your partner for what he / she believes in. Appreciating your partner's views reaffirms your love for him / her.

Romance

There is a difference between love and being in love. In a relationship, strive to sustain the two. Ensure you are always in love by constantly introducing the spark into your relationship. Romance could as well be the difference between having a platonic relationship or romantic relationship.

Always remember to live, laugh and dream together.

The factors stated above are not mutually exclusive. Short of one factors may signal that you are in an unhealthy relationship. The list is also not exhaustive. At times, it is hard to point out the positive factors of a healthy relationship especially if you have been in a long-term commitment and you have gotten too used to each other. However, if you are in an unhealthy relationship, your conscience will convict you. Many times, we shrag of signs of an unhealthy relationship. Listen to your mind and your heart, and change your relationship for both of you. Make yours a healthy relationship today.

FC Barcelona – The Cruyff Years

Johan Cruyff is a legendary football player known the world over for his aggressive and intelligent style of play. Though he had success in his earlier years, it is when he joined FC Barcelona in 1973 that his star really began to shine.

Cruyff began his career in his home country of the Netherlands playing for AFC Ajax. There he led the team to many victories and memorable performances, but was eventually sold to FC Barcelona for a hefty sum. Cruyff wasted no time winning over the Barcelona fans, stating to the press that he chose Barcelona over their rivals Real Madrid because he didn’t want to play for a team associated with former Spanish dictator Francisco Franco. He even named his son Jordi, a traditional Catalan (the region of Spain in which Barcelona is found) name.

Cruyff’s years playing for FC Barcelona were truly memorable and made him an icon. In his first year with the team, he helped them win La Liga for the first time in fourteen years (beating Real Madrid on their own turf along the way) and was also named European Footballer of the Year. It was during this time that he also scored one of his most memorable goals, called «The Phantom Goal» or «Le but d’imposible de Cruyff» (The Impossible Goal of Cruyff). In a match against Atlético Madrid, the football was already past the far goal post and was at about neck height when Cruyff leapt into the air, twisting so that he was facing away from the goal and kicked the ball into the goal with his right heel. This move among others propelled him to godlike status in the eyes of football fans.

Cruyff then spent many years away from FC Barcelona as a player and manager, until finally returning to the club as manager in 1988. When he returned to Barcelona, Cruyff brought with him the so-called «Dream Team». This elite squad was composed of Spaniards Jon Andoni Goikoetxea, Jose Mari Bakero, Josep Guardiola, Txiki Beguiristain, along with international stars Romanian Gheorghe Hagi, Bulgarian Hristo Stoichkov, Dane Michael Laudrup, Brazilian Romario, and Dutchman Ronald Koeman.

Under Cruyff’s direction, the Dream Team went on to win four consecutive La Liga titles from 1991 to 1994. They won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1989 and the European Cup in 1992 at Wembley Stadium with a famous free kick goal courtesy of Ronald Koeman. In 1990, the Dream Team won a Copa del Rey, the European Super Cup in ’92, and three Supercopa de Espana.

Cruyff remains FC Barcelona’s most successful manager to date, with eleven trophies to his name. He also has the distinction of being the club’s longest serving manager. He continues to be an advisor for FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, whom he openly endorsed during the elections. To this day, he is still revered by FC Barcelona fans, who call him «El Salvador» (The Saviour) for his successful run as both player and coach at the club.

The Most Popular Liverpool FC Merchandise

There is no doubt that Liverpool FC is one of the truly great soccer clubs of the world. Admittedly in recent years they may not have dominated the game in the way they did in the 1970s but the truth is that they have always made their impact felt at the highest level of European soccer.

And so it is hardly surprising that Liverpool has thousands of ardent fans scattered all over the world. Many of these fans never lose a single opportunity to feel closer to their club. One way of doing this is by getting hold player’s shirts and other playing kits and memorabilia that can easily be found in stores selling Liverpool merchandise.

Actually there is a very wide range of different stuff that you can buy. Even with the team shirts you will have to choose between the shirts the boys usually wear for their home games and what they would ordinary don for away matches. Or if you are a really serious fan you can make sure that you get both the strips.

As is the case with other soccer clubs, Liverpool FC player’s shirts are amongst the most popular merchandise that fans look to own so as to identify themselves with this great soccer club. There are even fans who purchase the complete team set right up to the goalkeeper.

Liverpool merchandise can also be a great idea if you need to get a gift for somebody whom you already know is a fan of the club. However it may be a good idea to start by finding out what memorabilia they already have so that you do not end up getting them something that they got a long time ago.

Another Liverpool item that is wildly popular are the hats if you have watched Liverpool games on TV you may have noticed what most fans like wearing. The most popular hats are called the beanies and will usually be decorated with the Liverpool colours and may sometimes even have the names of players and shirt numbers they usually wear.

Fans usually prefer to have the names of Liverpool legends on these hats. One such Liverpool soccer player who is a true legend is Steve Gerard. Although at a tender age he even had a trial with Manchester United, Gerard ended up signing his first professional soccer contract with Liverpool. The amazing thing is that in his first season he always looked pretty nervous and not the kind of player who would make any impact at Anfield. But in the 2000-2001 season Gerard exploded. Not only did he score 10 goals but he was clearly a very key member of the team that ended up winning both the FA cup and were also UEFA champions.

Who can forget Gerard’s enormous contribution to that sensational Champions league victory where Liverpool came from behind having conceded 3 goals by half time and ended up winning. This determined player won man of the match then.

And so you will understand when Liverpool fans seem to be crazy about Gerard wearing all kinds of team memorabilia and Liverpool merchandise that has his name or shirt number on it.
